Reclining Nude, Modigliani

"Reclining Nude", created by Modigliani in 1917, is part of the artist's extensive collection of female nudes. In this image, the young woman in the portrait is framed from behind, in an unnatural position, while slightly turning towards the viewer. She seems to have been called by someone or something. Her chin is almost resting on her right shoulder and one leg is semi-bent to make the neck twist easier.
